Ex-Lake Charles resident charged with aggravated incest

A 20-year-old former Lake Charles resident has been charged with 11 counts of aggravated incest, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Dakota D. Beckel, now living in West Monroe, was arrested on Wednesday following a five-week investigation.
Myers said Beckel has been accused of sexually assaulting a female family member on numerous occasions from 2003-09 while living in Calcasieu Parish. Myers said the girl was 7 years old when the alleged assaults began.
Judge Wilford Carter set Beckel’s bond at $50,000.
Detective William Wilcox is the lead investigator on this case.
