The Economics Day Conference will be 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the conference room of the SEED Center.
The free conference will focus on innovation and the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southwest Louisiana.
Registration is required for those attending the breakfast and luncheon, which is limited to the first 100 participants. Visit www.mcneese.edu/EconDay.
Speakers will be Jon Gregory, managing director of Innovate North State, and Doug Hall, professional innovator and best-selling author.
Gregory, who will talk at 8:45 a.m., is also a general partner in the new Northern California Investment Fund, a regional angel investment fund.
One of Hall’s creative ideas — an innovation engineering curriculum that he helped develop at his alma mater at the University of Maine — has sparked the creation of a Student Innovation Center at McNeese. His talk will be 11:15 a.m.
Panels on “Regional Support Systems and Connecting Entrepreneurs to Capital” and “Innovation as Preparation for the Talent Pipeline” will be presented during the day.
