A four-vehicle crash Friday at the intersection of College Street and Louisiana Avenue led to at least one serious injury and one arrest, Lake Charles police said.

Dale A. Cheek, 30, was charged with DWI, careless operation and first-degree negligent vehicular injury.

Cheek had a Florida license and his truck was registered in Florida. He was in Lake Charles for work.

“All vehicles were traveling eastbound. We are still figuring out the semantics of the accident,” said Ted Trunick, an officer with the city police.

He said there were seven people in the vehicles involved.

“Everyone was transported to the hospital,” Trunick said. “There were no fatalities. We don’t foresee any fatalities.”
