A Lake Charles man has been arrested after allegedly robbing the Wing Stop restaurant on Ryan Street and shooting at police officers, city police said.
City police spokesman Larry Moss said DeVonte Len Roberts was arrested Thursday night.
Roberts, who was charged with four counts of armed robbery, four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of aggravated assault of a police officer, remained in jail Friday on a $1.2 million dollar bond.
Moss said Roberts exited the restaurant and fired shots in the parking lot.
Roberts was captured a short time later by Corporal David Hampton and officer Roland Castille.
“No one was not injured as a results shots being fired,” Moss said in a news release.
A registered sex offender living in Sulphur has been arrested and charged with failure to register, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said 49-year-old Harold Keith Ramuar was arrested Thursday morning.
Myers said Ramuar moved without notifying the authorities within three days, as required by law.
Ramuar, 1103 Lori Lane, was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles to perform sexually immoral acts in 2009.
A 22-year-old Lake Charles man is facing a host of charges after his arrest Thursday afternoon.
According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Jesse Paul Venable was arrested at his home by the Lake Charles Police Department.
Venable has been charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, two counts of illegal possession of stolen things over $1,500, two counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms, six counts of illegal carrying of weapons during the commission of a crime or in the presence of drugs and one counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Venable, 3535 Knight Lane, remained in jail Friday on a $315,000 bond.
A 28-year-old DeQuincy man has been charged with four counts of simple robbery, simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000, theft under $500 and disturbing the peace.
According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Robert Louis Dunham was arrested at his home Thursday afternoon by the DeQuincy Police Department.
Dunham, 217 Kelly St., remained in jail Friday on a $111,000 bond.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:
Joshua Keith Carrier, 28, 1002 Elm St., Sulphur — simple burglary, theft under $500. Bond: $25,000.
Joseph Alan Bergeron, 32, 348 Tara Drive, Sulphur — drug possession, resisting an officer, theft under $500. Bond: $10,000.
Bobby Dwyane Jacobs, 19, 1115 Pine St. — monetary instrument abuse.
Christopher Todd Abshire, 31, 701 East Jeanerette St., Crowley — simple burglary, two counts of theft of a firearm and theft.
Those listed are presumed innocent until proved guilty.
