Crime Roundup: Sulphur residents charged with burglary, theft

Three Sulphur residents are facing numerous charges after breaking into a home on Raleigh Reed Road, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said 22-year-old James Wayne Carey, 31-year-old Katie Erin Carey and 33-year-old Kevin Eric McBrain were arrested Wednesday.

“The victim said when he returned home, he discovered his window had been forced open,” Myers said. “Several items, including a television, jewelry, X-Box, Sony docking station, compound bow and shotgun were stolen.”

All three were charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, firearm theft, theft over $1,500 and simple criminal property damage under $500.

McBrain, 2200 Post Oak Road, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was released Thursday after posting a $37,500 bond.

Katie Carey, 2720 Mary Ann St., was released Thursday after posting a $9,000 bond.

James Carey, 3936 Wright Road, remained in jail Friday on a $9,500 bond.



Arrest Reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Deon Forrest Williams, 42, 7864 Nelson Road, No. 22 — domestic abuse battery, resisting an officer. Bond: $1,950.

Stanley Robert Mitchell, 55, 3451 Nelson Road — theft under $500, criminal trespass. Bond: $1,000.

Bob Simmons, 57, 2215 See St. — aggravated second-degree battery. Bond: $12,000.

Jeremy Isaiah Wyatt, 22, 1809 1/2 Commercial St. — possession of stolen thing over $500.

Justin Jamar Duncan, 24, 2404 E. Mill St. — obstruction of justice, first-offense marijuana possession, drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $2,750.

David Lynn Smith, 24, 2111 Tulip St. — resisting an officer, first-offense marijuana possession, drug possession, driving with a suspended license, obstruction of justice, non-moving violation. Bond: $3,000.

Donovan Micah Shepherd, 31, 2228 Myrtle Springs Road, Westlake — aggravated flight from an officer, reckless operation, drug possession, no license.

Kato Jamal Harrison, 23, 1219 N. Simmons St. — obstruction of justice, drug possession with intent to distribute, flight from an officer, second-offense marijuana possession, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, moving violation, no insurance, driving with a suspended license. Bond: $6,900.

Zachary Saul Menard, 28, 545 Menard Road, Sulphur — drug possession. Bond: $3,000.

Terrell Deon King, 34, 107 Libby St. — aggravated flight from an officer, drug possession, first-offense marijuana possession, four counts of moving violations. Bond: $2,750.

Mark Edward Fee, 33, 1787 Koonce Road, Sulphur — simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, theft $500 to $1,500. Bond: $7,000.

James Patrick Bertrand, 51, 3945 S. Blue Sage Road — forgery, false swearing. Bond: $5,000.

Trey Edwin Chaumont, 26, 725 Jefferson Drive — drug possession, disturbing the peace, theft over $500.

James Ranard Walker, 31, 1401 Grein Ave. — marijuana possession with intent to distribute. Bond: $20,000.

Eddie Ray Tillman, 38, 1101 Gulf Lane, Sulphur — unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

Trent Alan Dubroc, 23, 1800 Beglis Parkway, Apt. 105C — video voyeurism. Bond: $20,000.

Jason Robert Weisenfeld, 29, 401 South Welty St., Apt. B, Iowa — theft over $1,500, possession of stolen things.

Michael John Derouen, 25, 1070 Mildred St., No. 7, Sulphur — possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bond: $10,000.

Richard Croucher, 24, 2899 Sugarloaf St., No. 127 — drug possession, possession of a firearm in presence of a CDS, non-moving violation. Bond: $8,200.



The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

Jena Mayes, 25, DeRidder — two counts of issuing worthless check. Bond: $1,300.

Timothy Foster, 57, Starks — domestic abuse battery, home invasion. Bond: $5,000.

Ezra Coutee, 38, DeRidder — possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $30,000.

Mitchell Buchanan, 40, DeRidder — DWI, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Raleigh Reeves, 43, Lake Charles — two counts of theft, two counts of criminal trespassing.

Belinda Decker, 40, DeRidder — drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond: $40,000.



The Sulphur Police Department reported the following arrests:

Dacey Lynn Edwards, 24, Lafarge Street, Sulphur — Disturbing the peace by public intoxication, simple burglary, resisting arrest.

Robert Charles Spencer, 37, Moss Street, Lake Charles — drug possession with intent to distribute, improper lane use.

James Ranard Walker, 31, Grien Avenue, Lake Charles — drug possession with intent to distribute.
