The Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office is awaiting a coroner’s report in the “suspicious” death of 70-year-old Dorothy Fields, said Chief Deputy Joe Toler.
Fields had “external bruises,” but the Sheriff’s Office was unable to determine the cause of death, he said.
No arrests have been made, Toler said.
Authorities were originally called to Fields’ residence at Kipling Corner near Bundick Lake because of a “natural death,” he said.
Emergency responders became suspicious and called the Sheriff’s Office, Toler said.
