Second Church Point waste tire hauler arrested

Last Modified: Friday, May 25, 2012 12:09 PM

BATON ROUGE (AP) — The son of a Church Point tire hauler who was arrested earlier this month now faces the same charges as his father for allegedly defrauding a state program meant to keep tires from being dumped illegally.

The Department of Environmental Quality says 20-year-old Rakeim Senegal of Church Point was booked Thursday on charges of forgery and filing a false public record, theft of $7,700 and Waste Tire Fund fraud.

His father, 57-year-old Majella Green, was booked with identical charges on May 3 and is free on $50,000 bond.

Green does not have a listed number and could not be reached for comment.

Both worked for Red's Transport. They allegedly inflated the number of tires and forged names on manifests for reimbursement from Colt Tire, a waste tire processor.
