HAMMOND (AP) — Authorities are trying to determine whether a dog fight featured in a video posted to Facebook Monday happened in Tangipahoa Parish or Lafayette Parish.

Tangi Humane Society director Randy Stegall tells The Advocate the man who posted the video online has an Amite address but listed his location as Lafayette on his Facebook profile.

Stegall said Wednesday the profile has since been deleted.

He said the video is extremely graphic, showing two dogs viciously fighting as spectators cheer them on.

Stegall says his organization is working with the Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and State Police to identify people in the video and match scenery in the video to a location so that warrants can be issued.
