Two Louisiana casinos ranked among the 10 most-searched-for non-Las Vegas casinos on Yahoo, according to an article posted Tuesday on Yahoo Travel.

The story ranked L’Auberge Casino Resort fifth and Marksville’s Paragon Casino Resort sixth.

Keith Henson, senior vice president and general manager at L’Auberge, said that while there are plenty of ways to get recognized, being mentioned on the list is “purely our customers and people interested in Lake Charles.”

“We’re on the map, and that is what is important to know,” he said.

The list includes larger casinos such as the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn., and the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J. Mohegan ranked first; Trump was second.

“(Mohegan) is three times the size of L’Auberge,” Henson said. “Where we are located is important because we don’t have the population that those other areas have.”

He said the recognition is good news for the area and shows that the casino is a “regional destination” rather than just a local one.
