A 47-year-old Lake Charles man was arrested Sunday on attempted second-degree murder charges after firing shots at a victim following an argument.

On Sunday at 10:18 a.m., Lake Charles Police officers were dispatched to 2127 Cline St. in reference to a shooting.

“Upon arrival at that location, an investigation revealed that an argument ensued between the victim and the suspect, Joseph Williams, in which Williams fired a handgun at the victim, then fled the scene,” Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said.

Kraus said the victim was not injured in the shooting.

“Information obtained led LCPD Officers Stratton and White to 2429 Anita Dr. where Joseph Williams was located and arrested for attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of dangerous weapons/instrumentalities,” Kraus said.

“He was booked into the LCPD and later transported to the CCC for booking and confinement.” Williams’ bond is set at $125,000.
