WELSH — The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office and Welsh Police Department on Monday were searching for a suspect or suspects that fired shots into two residences south of Welsh over the weekend.

Several shots were fired late Friday into two residences located on La. 99 just south of Welsh, but no injuries were reported, authorities said Monday.

Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff Criminal Investigator Chris Ivey said authorities recovered at least two bullets from the two residences.

The first shooting was reported around 10 p.m. Friday at a home on La. 99 just south of Welsh.

The second incident was not reported until Saturday when a woman awoke to find the damage, Sheriff Ivy Woods said.

The Sheriff’s Office and Welsh police are conducting a joint investigation into the shootings, Woods said.

One of the homes was located inside the town limits, while the other was located just outside, Woods said.

Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Office at 824-2106 or Welsh Police Department at 734-2626.
