Man pleads no contest to forcible rape

A man accused of raping an 8-year-old when he was 15 years old pleaded no contest to forcible rape Monday.
Judge Clayton Davis sentenced John Savoy, now 25, to 20 years in prison, with all but two suspended and five years probation. He must also register as a sex offender for 15 years.
Savoy was charged with aggravated rape, but the charge was amended to forcible rape.
When Savoy was arrested in 2011, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said the rape happened in 2002.
