JENNINGS — A joint investigation by authorities in Jefferson Davis and Acadia parishes has led to the arrest of an Iota couple in connection with several area burglaries and thefts.
Edward Cormier, 41, and Tonya Cormier, 45, were arrested by the Acadia Sheriff’s Office and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The charges stem from a burglary on Grand Marais Road north of Jennings in which a Miller welding machine, plasma cutter and other items were taken from a shed, as well as other burglaries in Acadia and Vermilion parishes, authorities said.
Edward Cormier is being held in the Acadia Parish jail on bond and has a hold from Jefferson Davis Parish.
Tonya Cormier is being held without bond in the Jefferson Davis Parish jail.
Additional arrests are pending, a news release from the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
