JENNINGS — For the second time in four months, two bicyclists have robbed the Jeff Davis Bank on West Division.
Police Chief Todd D’Albor said in a Thursday news release that two individuals wearing masks entered the bank at 3:43 p.m. with handguns, demanded money from the tellers and fled on bicycles.
A similar scenario played out in April. No arrests were made in that incident.
Police on Thursday found the culprits’ bicycles at an abandoned home on Washington Street about a block from the bank. A vehicle believed to be a getaway car was found under the carport of the home, D’Albor said.
Jennings police and the FBI are investigating the crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jennings police tip line at 275-9002.
