From staff reports

JENNINGS — A Basile woman is facing a criminal trespassing charge after police said she tried to retrieve items from her impounded vehicle.

Stevie Reed, 20, of 119 Pear St., was booked into the parish jail Saturday, but released due to lack of jail space, Chief Criminal Investigator Chris Ivey said in a news release Monday.

Reed is accused of climbing the fence into a secure area at Miller’s Paint and Body Shop, 17193 La. 102, in an attempt to retrieve items from her vehicle.

The vehicle had been towed following Reed’s earlier arrest on a possession of marijuana charge by Jennings Police Department.
