The George Rodrigue Foundation of the Arts is seeking entries for its fourth annual art contest, whose theme this year is “Louisiana’s Culinary Heritage.”
Winning artwork will be used in a cookbook published by GRFA and the Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation.
The contest offers one-time college scholarships and awards totaling more than $45,000 to the top 10 senior and top five junior winners. The top winner will receive a $6,000 scholarship.
A blind, two-part judging process focuses on three categories: interpretation of theme, creativity and design.
Submissions must be between 11-by-14 and 18-by- 24 inches. Acceptable media include oil or acrylic paint, charcoal, pencil or graphite, watercolor, photography, mixed media and digital media.
All Louisiana high school juniors and seniors and GED students are eligible. GRFA can’t accept framed canvases or 3D work.
