In a standing-room-only town hall meeting on Thursday, interim Merryville Mayor Teresa Havens said she will not terminate two city employees who were previously on the chopping block.
Havens said she will suspend the city clerk and a public works employee until Nov. 1 when mayor-elect Larry Carroll takes office.
“Everything I’ve done has been aimed at the betterment of this town, and while this may be the right thing to do it’s not the best thing for the town,” Havens said.
