A Calcasieu Parish employee was arrested Monday for stealing 1,300 gallons of fuel, authorities said.
David W. Brock, 59, 151 Big Woods Road in Starks, stole more than $3,800 worth of fuel, Kim Myers, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said in a news release.
Brock, a gravity drainage district employee, confirmed the theft to detectives, she said.
Brock entered a gravity drainage site during the early morning hours and turned surveillance cameras off while filling up his vehicle and gas containers, Myers said.
Brock is charged with malfeasance in office, theft over $1,500 and unauthorized entry of a business, she said.
Judge Kent Savoie set his bond at $12,500.
