Mayor Randy Roach fetched more bread. State Rep. A.B. Franklin filled water glasses. Marshal Joey Alcede cleaned and wiped off tables.
Many local public servants did their share of serving Thursday during the Brian Guilbeau and Hector San Miguel benefit at O’Charley’s restaurant.
Dozens of local celebrities paired up with O’Charley’s servers to wait on restaurant patrons. Around 11:30 a.m., customers lined up out the door in the rain to take part in the fundraiser.
The event, which raised $7,447, consisted of “tips” given to celebrity servers, a silent auction and an O’Charley’s donation of 10 percent of total sales between 11 a.m. an 4 p.m. The money will help Guilbeau’s and San Miguel’s families pay medical expenses.
