Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies escort the flag-draped casket of former deputy David Bray during burial Monday at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings. Bray was one of the first black deputies to serve in Jeff Davis Parish and served as assistant chief deputy under former Sheriff Dallas Cormier’s administration. He retired in 1990 after nearly 25 years of service.
