BATON ROUGE — Once a year, I could count on someone in the accounting department to ask me why I’d charged items from a Web site called ilovetoscore.com on my company credit card. At least once, the woman who received my monthly statements wondered aloud whether I’d been visiting indiscreet Web sites on the company computer and mistakenly paying for personal items with the wrong card.

Then I showed her the goods, so to speak.

Two of those would get me through a college baseball season. Along the way I converted a few people to this wonderful scorebook, including fans and LSU radio announcer Charles Hanagriff.

We’re not alone. Check out this blog by a New York Daily News baseball writer.

I’ve been a regular customer for years. I don’t see any reason to stop. Michael Schwartz, the creator of the site and the scorebook, is a great guy to deal with. He also has a sense of humor.

If you read this carefully and get the joke, then you’re probably of a certain age and bought a comic book or 20 back in the day (note: you’ll have to be patient; the PDF file takes some time to load).

Enjoy.
