Ahhh, Advent!

I love the season of Advent. I like the lighting of candles, singing Come Thou Long Expected Jesus and, of course, those yummy chocolates that come in the windows of the Advent calendars.

Here we are counting the days ’til Christmas. We are looking forward in great anticipation. Jesus is coming!

Advent is a great opportunity for us to focus on our faith. We are reminded that Christ came, He is with us still in Word and in Spirit and that Christ will come again in final victory.

And where are we in all of this? Advent reminds us that we, too, are on a journey.

Our journey begins with God, continues with God and ends with God.

God pours out His grace on us, drawing us into a relationship, then justifies us as we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Through His Holy Spirit, God works to make us holy by sanctification.

During Advent, I hope to reflect on all that God has done throughout salvation history. What an amazing story God has created and how great it is to be part of the never-ending narrative!
