A local therapist who had his license revoked in September was indicted for sexual battery Thursday evening in state district court.

An arrest warrant was issued for Christopher Hay, 40, 385 S. Jasmine Drive, who was a professional counselor, and marriage and family therapist. Hay plans to surrender himself to Calcasieu Sheriff's deputies, his attorney, Tom Lorenzi, said.

Hay's license was revoked because and investigation found he was inappropriately touching a woman he was counseling, according to documents from the Louisiana Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners.

Judge Robert Wyatt set bond at $20,000 and ordered Hay to have no contact with the woman or her family.

Hay admitted making inappropriate sexual comments and “disclosing personal and inappropriate information about himself ” to a woman during multiple counseling sessions, according to the Board of Examiners documents. Hay admitted touching her sexually during counseling sessions on June 10 and July 19, the documents said.
