The Lake Charles Fire Department was called to a fire at Darrrell's early Sunday morning. According to bar employees, the fire began after an ice machine malfunctioned. "There was smoke damage to back area, but the damage was very minimal," said bar manager Cody Cahanin. "It was mostly just smoke damage. The fire dept did a great job putting the fire out quickly." The fire was reported around 2:12 a.m. and was put out by 2:30 a.m. Eye witnesses said the fire department and city police were on the scene and that a portion of West College Street was closed to traffic. Darrell's, well-known for its po' boys, is owned by Darrell Derouen. For more on this and other breaking stories, check back at www.americanpress.comPosted By: P On: 5/7/2012
