A grand jury in 14th Judicial District Court on Thursday indicted a man on charges of raping and molesting a family member under the age of 13.

Karl Edgar Yancy, 27, 1315 8th Street was indicted on three counts of aggravated rape and three counts of aggravated incest.

Judge Wilford Carter set Yancy’s bond at $2.25 million.

The indictment said the charges occurred between Nov. 1, 2010 and Jan. 18, 2012, when the girl was between 10 and 12 years old.

Yancy has been held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center since his arrest last August.

Title:

Not all people accussed of such horribe things are guilty! Some kids get mad at good parents and the way the system works, kids know! it not only ruins the person accused but also their family. I personly know Karl and the alleged victim. I personaly can not believe the things that he is being acoused of. i know that these things happen and it's a damn shame. but what is worst is when a person goes thru all of the bashing and in tthe end he was innocent all along. i pray the truth is revealed in time for everyone's sake

Thank you Judge Carter, it's so good to see an appropriate bond set for a crime as heartbreaking, detrimental and devastating for the little ones in our community. I suspect he will pay for his crime so much as the law will allow. However the child will pay a much heavier price, one that doesnt end on a certain date. Mr. Yancy, like so many others will someday be released from prison, register as sex offender and go on with his life as best he can. Whereas his victim, without appropriate support is sentenced to a life of pain, unanswered questions, guilt and sadly enough base his/her self worth off what was done to them leading to the belief thats all their good for. They begin to freely give themselves to anyone that will have them in hopes of being loved. Bottom line, our sexually abused children are exchanging sex for love. God did not create prostitutes, sluts or whores... We did. So to Judge Carter I say very well done sir. Thank you
