Domingo Elizalde MiJangos, fatally shot last week in a Fall Street home, died in a drug deal gone wrong, according to an arrest warrant issued last week for a witness in the case.

Police on Thursday arrested Ulises Barragan Cedillo, a resident of the home where the shooting happened, on charges of obstruction of justice and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Lake Charles Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Monday in a news release that Cedillo, 23, “was not being truthful as to the events that took place surrounding the homicide,” which occurred June 25 at 734 Fall St.

According to the affidavit accompanying the arrest warrant, Cedillo gave police differing accounts of what happened the night MiJangos, 31, was killed.

When officers interviewed Cedillo the night of the shooting, the warrant says, he told them that he had answered a knock at the door and found four black men “armed with automatic handguns.”

He reportedly told police that the men forced him and MiJangos to sit down and that one of the men said, “Where is the money? And don’t move.” The warrant says Cedillo told officers that MiJangos was shot after he “made a move or acted like he was going to get up.”

According to the warrant, Cedillo said the assailants fled afterward, and he supplied a description of the men.

But the affidavit goes on to say that when police spoke to Cedillo a second time, he told officers that a black male named “J” had called to say he wanted to buy some marijuana. He said he and MiJangos — called Mingo in the warrant — planned to sell “J” a pound of pot.

“Cedillo advised that when ‘J’ knocked on the door he allowed him inside the residence where he and Mingo had a portion of the marijuana,” reads the affidavit.

“Cedillo advised that a BM (black male) he didn’t know picked up the marijuana and was sniffing it. Cedillo advised that ‘J’ for no reason pulled out a pistol, and so did the other BMs.”

The warrant says Cedillo told police that “J” said, “You know what time it is you get dabbed,” and ordered them to remain still. Cedillo reportedly told police that he heard the gun go off and saw MiJangos slump. The assailants then grabbed the drugs and ran from the house.

The warrant says Cedillo “refused to provide investigators with any further details pertaining to the location of the marijuana or the full amount of the marijuana” and gave police differing descriptions of “J’s” car.

“Cedillo advised that this was a drug deal that he set up and Mingo should not have been killed. ...,” the affidavit reads. “Cedillo advised that he would have rather them take 10 pounds of marijuana from him than to kill Mingo.”

Title: :'(

I can assure you mingo was not in the deal, he was only picking up a dog and in exchange I really believe he was gonna make cedillo a tatoo. From my understanding detectives did not collect his tattoo machine that night, isnt that part of evidence. Mingo was a good person with a good paying job.
