Vinton man charged with rape, incest

A 40-year-old Vinton man has been charged with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of aggravated incest, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Christopher S. Benoit, 2212 Hillary Drive, was arrested on Thursday.
Myers said Benoit is accused of having sexual contact with a female family member on numerous occasions, beginning in 2009 when the girl was 9 years old.
Judge Ron Ware set Benoit’s bond at $270,000.
Detective Elizabeth Zaunbrecher was the lead investigator.
