Tornado watch for Southwest Louisiana to last until 7 p.m.

Last Modified: Friday, February 22, 2013 10:49 AM

Special to the American Press

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a tornado watch for Southwest Louisiana.

The watch will end at 7 p.m. but the Lake Area is expected to see the most its severe weather from 2-5 p.m.

A tornado watch means that weather conditions have created a significant risk of a tornado forming. In contrast, a tornado warning is issued when a tornado or funnel cloud has been seen or detected on radar.
