Two juveniles and a Ragley man are facing 14 counts of simple burglary, 15 counts of criminal damage to property, two counts of theft over $1,500, five counts of theft under $500 and one count of theft of a motor vehicle, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman James McGee said the arrests came at the end of a week-long investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Vehicle Crimes Investigative Unit.

McGee said the juveniles, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, were arrested along with 17-year-old Tanner J. Holland, 5352 Topsy Bel Road, in connection with over 30 cases of burglarized and damaged vehicles in the Moss Bluff area.

“Between Dec. 27 and Dec. 31, the Sheriff’s Office received over 30 reports of vehicles being burglarized and damaged in the Moss Bluff area, including Gracie Drive, Coffey Road and Tay Tay Drive,” McGee said Tuesday in a news release. “Several victims reported items, including electronics, wrapped Christmas gifts and wallets were stolen out of unlocked vehicles. Numerous other victims reported damage to their vehicles including slashed tires, cracked windshields and tail lights and vehicles being keyed.

“On Dec. 27, deputies responded to a vehicle theft at a home on Coffey Road. Deputies located and recovered the stolen truck, valued at over $42,000, a few hours later. They found it abandoned after it crashed into a ditch at the intersection of Topsy Road and Bill Rosteet Road.”

McGee said the juveniles and Holland confirmed all of the allegations when questioned by detectives.

Holland was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center while the juveniles were charged and released to their parents.

Judge Michael Canaday has set Holland’s bond at $257,500.
