A 46-year-old Texas man has been charged with fourth-offense DWI, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Robert G. Magee, of New Waverly, Texas, was arrested Sunday morning after deputies found him sleeping in a car on East Tank Farm Road.

“Deputies found Magee passed out in the driver’s seat of the car,” Myers said in a news release. “When deputies spoke with Magee, they detected a strong odor of alcohol and his speech was slurred. He then refused to take the standard field sobriety test.”

Myers said Magee, who was also charged with driving under suspension, was convicted of third-offense DWI in 2009. Judge Ron Ware set Magee’s bond at $20,500.
