Police have identified the body of the 22-year-old Lake Charles woman who was killed Sunday by her boyfriend before he committed suicide.
Authorities said Octavia Nicole Jack was stabbed multiple times by boyfriend Christopher White, 30.
“Information was obtained that White fled and was heading to the Lincoln Parish area,” Deputy Police Chief Mark Kraus said in a news release. “Detectives contacted the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office to be on the look-out for White.”
Lincoln Parish officials contacted Lake Charles police at 9 a.m. Sunday to say that White had been found dead in a rural area “from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” Kraus said.
The slaying happened in the Wilshire Apartments, 4245 Fifth Ave. Police went to the complex at 12:16 a.m. Sunday in reference to a “suspicious circumstances call,” Kraus said. While investigating the complaint, he said, officers found Jack’s body and determined that she’d been slain.
Authorities haven’t said what motivated White to kill Jack or whether there were previous calls to the residence or if anyone else was involved.
Questions posed to police about forensic evidence, the 911 call and whether the case is closed went unanswered by press time. The American Press has submitted a public records request to obtain the initial report.
