The state parole board denied parole to Devin Blake Badon early Wednesday morning.

Badon, 21, pled guilty in June 2012 to negligent homicide in the April 2011 shooting death of Stephin Bergeron.

The hearing was held in 14th Judicial District Court; Badon appeared on video feed.

Holly Carter, district attorney spokeswoman, confirmed that the Badon was denied parole.

In September 2012, Badon was sentenced to five years in prison, with two years suspended.
