McNeese State’s softball doubleheader against Texas was rescheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday in Austin.

The games were rained out twice this week.

McNeese State will host Stephen F. Austin in a three-game Southland Conference softball series beginning with a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The first-place Cowgirls (27-9, 8-2 SLC) have three player hitting better than .300 — junior outfielder Alanna DiVittorio (.373), freshman first baseman Emily Vincent (.370) and sophomore outfielder Lauren Langner (.342).

Vincent and DiVittorio are on five-game hitting streaks.

DiVittorio leads the team with 35 runs scored, eight doubles, a .747 slugging percentage, a .523 on-base percentage and 26 walks. She is tied with Langner with a team-high 10 stolen bases.

Vincent leads the team with 35 RBIs and eight home runs. She is second on the team with a .717 slugging percentage, 34 hits and 23 runs scored.

The Cowgirls are led in the circle by senior Meagan Bond (12-3, 1.31 ERA) and freshman Jamie Allred (13-3, 1.49). Bond leads the team with 117 strikeouts in 96 innings and has won 10 of her last 11 games. She ranks third in the nation in walks allowed per seven innings with 0.66. Bond has issued nine walks this season. Allred has 106 strikeouts in 103 1/3 innings and has won eight of her last nine games.

SFA (11-22, 4-8) has lost four of its last five games and is led by Elizabeth Arana (.355, 16 RBIs). Carlie Thomas (8-10, 3.28) has 94 strikeouts in 112 1/3 innings.

McNeese State’s women’s tennis team will play at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. Saturday in a Southland Conference match.

The Cowgirls (11-7, 2-3 SLC) will play at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, at noon Sunday.

The Cowgirls are one of three teams in the SLC that have won 10 or more matches. The last time McNeese won 10 or more matches was in 2005, when the Cowgirls finished 18-5, the most wins in program history.

Freshman Klaudia Gawlik leads the SLC with a 17-1 record at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Diana Pirciu is 11-6.

Texas A&M-CC (12-2, 4-1) is tied for second in the SLC. Sam Houston State (7-12) is 1-5 in conference play.
