If you are ready for an experience that your eyes will not believe, then don’t miss the next performance of the McNeese Banners Cultural Series — Spencers: Theatre of Illusion — at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the Lake Charles Civic Center’s Rosa Hart Theatre.

Southwest Louisiana will have the chance to experience Kevin and Cindy Spencer’s show, which combines drama, suspense, cutting-edge illusions, exhilarating scenery and breath-taking stage magic.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children and free to McNeese and Sowela students with a valid ID.

As the stars of Theatre of Illusion, the Spencers are able to successfully blend together theatrical elements of a Broadway-style production, with the high energy of a rock concert to bring their audience to the brink and back.

Theatre of Illusion is one of the most highly regarded acts in magical entertainment, being honored with more than 20 national awards.

The Spencers have been named Performing Arts Entertainers of the Year six times, and their peers recognized them as “the best of the best” by naming them International Magicians of the Year, joining the ranks of Doug Henning, Penn & Teller and David Copperfield.

The Spencers have also received the Harry Chapin Award for Contributions to Humanity for their work in the field of rehabilitation medicine.

Through a special program they founded called Healing of Magic, the Spencers have been spreading the word about using magic tricks as a healing tool for the physically challenged. Although not a new concept, they have helped to greatly expand upon the therapeutic use of magic used today by facilities all over the world.

Banners season memberships are still available and all membership levels include reserved seating areas. People can join by calling the Banners office at 337-475-5123 or visiting the Banners website at www.banners.org.
