Severed wires at Northrop Grumman lead to Air Force investigation

During scheduled depot maintenance, a contractor discovered severed wires on a Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System aircraft at Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, spurring an investigation by the Air Force.
“To ensure the integrity of the maintenance process, we are working hand in hand with Northrop Grumman to get to the root cause,” Chrissy Miner, a spokeswoman for Robins Air Force Base, said Thursday. “The matter is currently under investigation, and more details will be released as they come available.”
Northrop Grumman is supporting the Air Force in the investigation, said Gregory B. Harland, a company spokesman.
