Itinerant Theatre announces its third Bicentennial Year production, “The Writers: Maggie, Kate and Rosa,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 in the Gibson Barham Gallery at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum, 204 W. Sallier St.
The monologues, written by Lake Charles native Carolyn Woosley, are part of her 13-play cycle, “Louisiana Women.”
Joy Pace reprises her performances of “Maggie” and “Rosa.” Maggie Dixon was America’s first female managing editor of a major periodical, The Morning Advocate.
Lake Charles’ own Rosa Hart was a budding Jewish intellectual and community theater champion comically tricked into becoming the America’s first female cheerleader.
Donna Rigdon Jones reprises the role of “Kate” from her 2010 tour with “The Visionaries” touring company produced by AlterEgo Productions and Woosley Consulting LLC.
Kate Chopin was an early 20th-century writer who explored the taboo topics of female individuality and sexuality.
