City to be decked in yarn for art walk

The Southwest Louisiana Yarnstormers will be graffiti-knitting light posts in downtown Lake Charles in celebration of Spring Art Walk 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 26.
The colorful pieces of handmade art will be installed Wednesday, April 24, and be removed the following Wednesday, May 1.
Yarn storming is a type of street art that uses colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn rather than paint or chalk in public spaces. It is has been seen in Austin, Texas, Seattle, Denver and in trendy cities around the world.
