Black Heritage Gallery presents art of the ‘sole’

Brusly artist Bernard Jackson begins his art on a sneaker canvas.

“View My Soles” is the theme of Jackson’s show at the Black Heritage Gallery in the Central School Arts and Humanities Center, 809 Kirby St.

The exhibit will open with a reception 6-8 p.m. Friday.

“View My Soles” will include one-of-a-kind, themed sneakers and other media.

Jackson has created pieces for professional athletes, nonprofit groups, brides and grooms and more. His artwork has been displayed in museums in West and East Baton Rouge, including the LSU Museum of Art.
