Special to the American Press

The Arts & Crabs Fest — an event for those age 21 and older — will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum.

Fifteen local restaurants will offer crab dishes — mini crab au gratin, crab ceviche, crab gazpacho — and a Louisiana craft brew will complement each one.

A culinary battle will take place, and Acadiana Profiles Magazine will give the winner a two-night stay at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans.

Live music, an art market, and interactive cultural activities will accompany the event. Music will be provided by Rusty Metoyer & The Zydeco Krush.

A limited number of $25 tickets are available at www.artsandcrabsfest.eventbrite.com.

Money raised at Arts & Crabs Fest is reinvested into the community through the Arts Council. For more information on the event, call the council at 439-2787.
