MOSS BLUFF — Sam Houston High School was put on precautionary lockdown for a short while Monday morning when Moss Bluff man involved in a four-vehicle accident in front of the school began "acting erratically," state police said.
Jeffery Nickolas Monceaux, 27, rear-ended a vehicle, then attempted to drive between two other vehicles, according to Troop D spokesman Sgt. James Anderson.
Monceaux was charged with DWI, careless operation and resisting arrest, Anderson said. He was booked into Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center and his bond was set at $3,500.
Monceaux ran on school property and hid in the bushes, but did not attempt to enter the school, said Skylar Giardina, risk manager for the the Calcasieu Parish School Board.
Sam Houston's safe school officer apprehended Monceaux, who was arrested by state police.
One of the other drivers was transported from the scene with moderate injuries, Anderson said.
