LAKE ARTHUR — A public meeting is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Arthur Community Center to provide residents with updated information on the potential flooding which is expected to occur this weekend.
The Mermentau River is expected to rise to 9 feet by 6 p.m. Saturday before beginning a slow fall on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The meeting is being hosted by the town and the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.
