The weather forecast remains unchanged for Southwest Louisiana, with between 1-2 inches of snow and a quarter-inch ice accumulation expected in the area.

A hard freeze with temperatures dropping in the low 20s and high teens will extend into Wednesday, with temperatures projected to warm above freezing Wednesday afternoon.

If sunny weather arrives, temperatures could remain in the 30s, possibly near the freezing point.

Sgt. James Anderson of Louisiana State Police Troop D said residents have done a good job of staying off roads as requested. The troop has investigated one crash today, a one-vehicle rollover on Interstate 10 near the U.S. 165 exit.

The Interstate 210 overpass was closed at 8 a.m. Tuesday morning and is expected to remain closed throughout the storm.

Anderson said crews are treating the U.S. 171 bridge between Lake Charles and Moss Bluff every 30 minutes to keep it safe for travel. The Interstate 10 bridge is also receiving constant treatment to help keep traffic moving.

No power outages have been reported in the area.
