A man is accused of shooting his girlfriend's stepfather at a trailer park south of Lake Charles, authorities said.

Jonathan Guillory, 27, allegedly shot 43-year-old Felton P. Boutte, Jr. at a trailer home on Smith Road, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff

Tony Mancuso said at the scene Thursday night.

The shooting appeared to be domestic and happened inside Guillory's residence at 2500 Smith Road Lot 25, Mancuso said.

Guillory was arrested and was believed to be the only person involved, the Sheriff said.

Boutte was pronounced dead at the scene, Sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Myers said in a news release.

An altercation between the two “turned physical and was broken up by a family member,” she said. “Guillory retrieved a gun

from a back room of the mobile home and shot Boutte.”

Guillory fled the scene, but was apprehended in the trailer park by arriving deputies, she said. Guillory, booked into Calcasieu

Correctional Center, is expected to be charged with second-degree murder.

Witnesses were taken to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office for questioning, Mancuso said.

Several sheriff's investigators were on the scene around dusk waiting on a search warrant, while resident milled around further

down the street.
