Daveon Banks, Pickering — Led Southwest Louisiana in rushing yards, gaining 233 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries.
Tim Hamilton, Westlake — The senior threw for 155 yards and a 4-yard touchdown while rushing for another 45 yards.
Kennon Fontenot, Barbe — Threw for an area-high 304 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 80 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Dustin Duhon, Sam Houston — The junior completed seven of 15 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns.
Quajae Boutte, Washington-Marion — Completed six of 10 passes for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Jakin Morales, South Cameron — The freshman was a perfect eight for eight passing on the night, throwing for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Chaz Key, Iowa — The Yellow Jackets’ speedster rushed for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 13 carries.
Austin Darbonne, Oberlin — The senior started the season strong with 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 10 carries.
Noah Martin, Rosepine — The Eagles’ workhorse picked up 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 14 carries
Stanley Hogan, Rosepine — The senior usually stands out on defense, but worked the offensive side of the ball for 124 yards and a 69-yard touchdown on 14 carries.
Jordan Vickers, Kinder — Was responsible for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 17 carries.
Trey Hargrave, Lake Arthur — The freshman carried the ball 23 times for 126 yards.
Kelly Courville, South Beauregard — The junior rushed for 87 yards and a 1-yard touchdown on 20 carries.
Adam Broussard, South Cameron — Carried the ball eight times for 97 yards and four touchdowns.
Demond Delahoussaye, Washington-Marion — Responsible for both of the Charging Indians’ touchdowns on receptions of 15 and 93 yards. Ended the night with 155 yards on four catches.
Trey Quinn, Barbe — The All-American hauled in nine passes in the Bucs’ victory for 139 yards and a 22-yard touchdown. Also returned a kickoff 92 yards for a score.
John Brown, South Beauregard — The sophomore Golden Knights’ linebacker returned a fumble 11 yards for a score.
Kendrick Ceaser, Basile — The Bearcat star returned an interception 50 yards for Basile’s final touchdown of the night. Also rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Scott Ross, Elton — Returned a kickoff 80 yards for the Indians’ lone touchdown of the evening.
Keyshawn Bias, Vinton — Returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown.
Sam Houston’s 38-21 win over St. Louis marked the first time the Broncos had beaten the Saints since 2008. Sam Houston wide receiver Cliff Reid and St. Louis running back Terrell Rodriguez were both ejected from the game and will consequently have to sit out of their teams’ Week 2 games.
l South Beauregard’s 19-0 win over DeQuincy was their seventh victory in a row in one of Southwest Louisiana’s biggest rivalries.
l After Barbe’s week one win over Washington Marion, wide receiver Trey Quinn now needs 1,130 yards to break the Louisiana state record for most receiving yards in a career and 1,756 yards for the national record.
l Grand Lake’s 46-6 lossto Acension Episcopal was the first time they played a full varsity football game since 1961. Their first home game will take place on Friday when they host Gueydan.
l South Cameron’s 50-0 victory over Gueydan was their largest margin of victory in over 15 years.
