One Westlake man pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to possession of child pornography and another was sentenced to

more than 21 years in prison for drug distribution and firearms charges, said U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley.

Michael Sonnier, 31, used file-sharing software to download child pornography, including more than 26 movies of hardcore child

pornography, which featured sadistic material depicting prepubescent children.

He faces up to 10 years in prison, five years’ to lifetime supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

Another Westlake man, Anthony Frederick

“Tony” Giaimis, 48, was sentenced to 262 months in prison for

conspiring to distribute

50 grams of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to

distribute, and possession of 14 firearms by a felon, Finley

said.

Giaimis, who was convicted by a jury on April 10, obtained more than 80 ounces of meth from two men in the Houston area and

sold the drug to people in and around Calcasieu Parish.

On Jan. 6, 2012, police found 14 firearms during a search of the marina where Giaimis was living, the Bridge Point Yacht Club,

which is owned by his mother, Finley said. Giaimis was convicted of a felony drug crime in June 2011 in Texas.
