A single-vehicle accident on Interstate 210 Saturday morning sent two people to the hospital, city police said.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lane of I-210, at the Holly Hill Road overpass, at around 8:30 a.m., according to Deputy Chief Mark Kraus.

The driver of the 2004 Pontiac Minivan, Michael Carter, of DeRidder, as well as his passenger, Nikki Reed, of Lake Charles, were transported to local hospitals with severe injuries, Kraus said.
