A Baytown, Texas, man was indicted on two counts of attempted first-degree murder Thursday related to his reported involvement
in a September car chase with police.
Jeffery Todd Doucet, 40, was also indicted on felony charges of aggravated flight from an officer and possession of stolen
items over $1,500.
When Doucet was arrested in September, police announced he was also suspected in a 2010 meth lab explosion at a lakefront
hotel.
The attempted murder charges stem from the car chase, which involved several police units and left one police car damaged,
said Lake Charles Deputy Police Chief Mark Kraus.
He said Doucet drove into oncoming traffic and tried to strike a police unit. The indictment sheet alleges that Doucet attempted
to kill two officers.
