Tioga High teacher charged with having sex with student

ALEXANDRIA (AP) — Rapides Parish sheriff's deputies say a 27-year-old Tioga High School teacher has been arrested for having

a sexual relationship with a student at the school.

The Town Talk reported Heather Michelle Cooksey, of Pineville, was booked Wednesday into the Rapides

Parish Detention Center on two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

Deputies say the investigation is continuing.

It was unclear whether Cooksey has an attorney.
