Kool Smiles offers sweet support for US troops

By Special to the American Press

Children can donate their Halloween candy to troops serving overseas through Kool Smiles’ Operation Troop Treats program.

Last year, the program collected more than 80 pounds of candy. In exchange for the candy, children can choose a toy. Donors

get a toy for every 25 pieces of unopened candy still in its original packaging, up to three toys per child.

A pound of candy is included in each package sent to a soldier through the Operation Gratitude program, along with dental

kits and guides to oral health.

Kool Smiles, at 2706 Ryan St., will collect donations Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 4-6.
