U.S. Rep. Charles Boustany, R-Lafayette, on Wednesday received endorsements from Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach and Calcasieu
Parish District Attorney John DeRosier.
“During Hurricane Rita and in our recovery, Congressman Dr. Charles Boustany helped to keep our region from being forgotten,”
Roach said in a news release.
“He has worked to get federal
assistance to maintain our ship channel and supported our efforts to
keep Lafayette and Lake
Charles in the same congressional district. He has a long track
record of support for our area and has always been accessible
to work with us on a variety of local matters. I know he will
continue serving our area well.”
DeRosier said Boustany is a man of integrity and honor. “I am proud to endorse him, and I look forward to his re-election
on December 8th,” he said in a news release.
Boustany said he is “honored and humbled” to have the endorsements. “Both of these men have served their constituents with
tremendous passion, and I will do the same in Washington, D.C.,” he said in a news release.
Boustany will face U.S. Rep. Jeff Landry, R-New Iberia, in the runoff election Saturday, Dec. 8.
